Abstract:

Provided are: an eyepiece, which has aberrations excellently corrected over a sufficiently wide field angle, does not have a long total length, while having a sufficient eye relief, and furthermore, which suppresses an increase of the lens diameter; and an optical apparatus having the eyepiece. An eyepiece (3) has, in this order from the object side, a first lens group (G1), which has a meniscus-shaped first lens component (G1A) having the convex surface facing the object side, a second lens group (G2), which has a lens component (L21) having the convex surface facing the observing eye side, and a third lens group (G3), which has positive refractive power. The object-side focal point surface (I) of the third lens group (G3) is positioned between the second lens group (G2) and the third lens group (G3), and when (f) represents the focal point distance of the whole system, and (f12) represents the synthesized focal point distance of the first lens group (G1) and the second lens group (G2), the conditions expressed by the following formula are satisfied: 6≤|f12|/f.
