The present invention relates to the technical field of electric motor braking devices, and in particular to an explosion-proof electromagnet apparatus and a brake. The explosion-proof electromagnet apparatus comprises an electromagnet housing, an electromagnetic coil and an explosion-proof cover, wherein the explosion-proof cover is installed on the side of the electromagnet housing that accommodates the electromagnetic coil; the explosion-proof cover is in interference fit with the electromagnet housing; and the explosion-proof cover is made of aluminum or aluminum alloy materials. The brake comprises a controller, a brake part, a housing and the explosion-proof electromagnet apparatus, wherein the brake part and the explosion-proof electromagnet apparatus are installed on the housing; and the controller is used for controlling the explosion-proof electromagnet apparatus to drive the brake part to move. The beneficial effect of the present invention lies in: the electromagnet housing, the electromagnetic coil and the explosion-proof cover are combined into an integral explosion-proof electromagnet apparatus, and constitute a permanent explosion-proof electromagnet apparatus, which is compact in structure, and there is no need to additionally provide an explosion-proof box, thereby saving on costs, and reducing weight.
