Abstract:
An expansion valve device includes a housing (20), a valve body (24), a drive unit (27), a first detection unit (31a, 31b), a second detection unit (32a, 32b), a third detection unit (33a, 33b), and a control unit (15). The housing has formed therein a first refrigerant passage (21) and a second refrigerant passage (22). The valve body is provided within the housing and changes the degree of opening of the second refrigerant passage. The first detection unit detects the temperature of a refrigerant flowing through the first refrigerant passage. The second detection unit detects the temperature and pressure of a refrigerant flowing on the upstream side of the valve body in the second refrigerant passage. The third detection unit detects the temperature or the pressure of a refrigerant flowing on the downstream side of the valve body in the second refrigerant passage. The control unit calculates, using the values detected by the second detection unit and the third detection unit, the flow rate of the refrigerant flowing through the second refrigerant passage, calculates, using the value detected by the first detection unit, the degree of superheat of the refrigerant flowing through the first refrigerant passage, and controls the degree of opening of the valve body so that the degree of superheat is within a predetermined range.
