Abstract:
This exhaust pipe comprises a metal pipe and an inorganic porous layer provided to a site on the inner surface of the metal pipe at which exhaust gas passes through. In the exhaust pipe, the inorganic porous layer has a porosity of at least 45 vol%, contains ceramic fibers, and is configured from at least 15 mass% of an alumina component and at least 45 mass% of a titania component. Furthermore, chromium oxide is included in the inorganic porous layer.
