Abstract:
Provided are an exhaust gas cleaning device and method for producing same, capable of reducing the weight of a catalyst structural body and preventing deformation of a laminated body during production steps to inhibit a gap between the catalyst structural body and a housing case from generating. This exhaust gas cleaning device comprises: a catalyst structural body 2 through which exhaust gas flows; a metal catalyst 3 that is carried by the catalyst structural body 2 and is capable of reacting with exhaust gas flowing through the catalyst structural body 2 to clean the exhaust gas; and a housing case 4 that houses the catalyst structural body 2 and can be attached to an exhaust gas flow passage through which exhaust gas flows. The catalyst structural body 2 has a laminated body E in which paper sheets E1, E2 folded into a corrugated shape are laminated in multiple stages. Reinforcing members F1, F2 extending along the inner peripheral surface of the housing case 4 are formed on the outer peripheral surface of the laminated body E.
