Abstract:
A shovel (100) comprises a lower traveling body (1), an upper turning body (3) that is turnably mounted on the lower traveling body (1), an engine (11) that is mounted on the upper turning body (3), a main pump (14) that is driven by the engine (11), and a controller (30) that controls the flow rate of a hydraulic fluid discharged by the main pump (14). The controller (30) delays main pump (14) responsiveness until the actual torque of the engine (11) rises to a level corresponding to the load when the load on the engine (11) has been increased.
