Abstract:
An excavator according to an exemplary embodiment of the present invention is provided with: a lower traveling body (1); an upper revolving body (3) mounted on the lower traveling body (1); a main pump (14) mounted on the upper revolving body (3); a variable capacity type hydraulic motor (20) for travel, which is driven by means of operating oil discharged by the main pump (14) and which moves the lower traveling body (1); and a controller (30) which performs control capable of switching the motor capacity of the hydraulic motor (20) for travel in a plurality of stages. The controller (30) switches the motor capacity of the hydraulic motor (20) for travel to a low rotation setting when an operation has been performed to change the direction of travel of the lower traveling body (1).
