Abstract:
The present invention relates to the field of engineering machinery. Disclosed are an excavator boom and a boom design method. The excavator boom comprises a boom body, a front support, and a rear support; the boom body comprises an upper cover plate and a lower cover plate; the upper cover plate and the lower cover plate each comprise a front straight section and a rear straight section which are respectively connected to the front support and the rear support; the side contour of the front support is of an axisymmetric structure and has a symmetry axis L1 passing through the center point A of a hinge hole of the front support; the side contour line of the front straight section of the upper cover plate and the side contour line of the front straight section of the lower cover plate are symmetrical relative to the symmetry axis L1, respectively; the side contour of the rear support is of an axisymmetric structure and has a symmetry axis L2 passing through the center point B of a hinge hole of the rear support; and the side contour line of the rear straight section of the upper cover plate and the side contour line of the rear straight section of the lower cover plate are symmetrical relative to the symmetry axis L2, respectively. The present invention effectively reduces the design difficulty of the excavator boom, shortens the design period, and greatly reduces the processing and manufacturing difficulty, thereby lowering the manufacturing cost.
