Abstract:
Provided are: an energy regeneration device capable of controlling the flow of a hydraulic fluid discharged from an actuator while regenerating energy from the hydraulic fluid; and a work machine provided with same. The regeneration device (100) is provided with a boom cylinder (20), an inertial fluid container (102), an oil tank (110), an accumulator (105), a low pressure-side switch (103), and a high pressure-side switch (104). A calculation unit (151) calculates the duty ratio for switching the low pressure-side switch (103) and the high pressure-side switch (104) according to the target flow of hydraulic fluid discharged from the boom cylinder (20). A regeneration-controlling unit (153) alternately switches the inertial fluid container (102) between being in communication with the low pressure-side switch (103) and the high pressure-side switch (104) on the basis of the calculated duty ratio and supplies the discharged hydraulic fluid to the accumulator (105).
