Abstract:
This endoscope system 100 is provided with an endoscope 1, an image generation unit 21, a display unit 3, a display image control unit 22, and a distance detection unit 13. The endoscope 1 has an imaging optical system comprising a first imaging element 11 and a second imaging element 12. The distance detection unit 13 detects distance information which is information relating to the distances from observation windows 11A, 12A to an object 101 to be observed. On the basis of the distance information, the display image control unit 22 controls a first captured image by changing, within the whole imaging region 110 of the first imaging element 1, the location of a first output region 111 for which an imaging signal is output as the first captured image, and controls a second captured image by changing, within the whole imaging region 120 of the second imaging element 12, the location of a second output region 121 for which an imaging signal is output as the second captured image.
