Abstract:
An electronic device according to an embodiment may comprise: a camera; a display; and a processor. The processor according to an embodiment may be configured to output fingerprint obtaining guide information using an external object on the basis of detecting a fingerprint registration or fingerprint authentication context event. The processor according to an embodiment may be configured to obtain a camera image by executing the camera. The processor according to an embodiment may be configured to recognize a specific object included in the camera image output on the display. The processor according to an embodiment may be configured to display, through the display, a fingerprint obtaining area frame in at least a partial area within the camera image, which overlaps the recognized specific object. The processor according to an embodiment may be configured to generate a frame image corresponding to the displayed fingerprint obtaining area frame from the camera image. The processor according to an embodiment may be configured to configure fingerprint data remaining on a surface of the recognized specific object by processing the frame image. The processor according to an embodiment may be configured to use the configured fingerprint data for a fingerprint registration procedure or a fingerprint authentication procedure.
