An electronic device, according to one embodiment of the present disclosure, may comprise at least one microphone, at least one camera, at least one output module for providing a notification to a user, and at least one processor. The at least one processor may be configured to: detect a designated first event on the basis of surrounding sound obtained by means of the at least one microphone; when detecting the first event, obtain surrounding images or videos by means of the at least one camera; on the basis of the obtained images or videos, detect a designated second event; and when detecting the designated second event, output a notification command corresponding to at least one of the detected first event and the detected second event to the at least one output module.
