Abstract:

Provided is an electronic ballast for a discharge lamp, which allows a lamp to operate at rated power by finding a frequency band that does not cause a resonant phenomenon and minimizes switching loss. The electronic ballast for a discharge lamp comprises: a lamp unit; a power supply circuit unit for providing driving power to the lamp unit; a lamp driving circuit unit for driving the lamp unit with a high frequency oscillation operation by mutually alternating switching of a plurality of switching elements; and a resonance unit connected to the lamp driving circuit unit to form a resonance circuit for the oscillation operation. The lamp unit includes an acoustic resonance prevention circuit for preventing acoustic resonance.
