Abstract:

An electromagnetic type detent device of a control valve for holding a spool (12) of the control valve at a predetermined position by connecting to the spool a rod (17) provided with a plate (18) and providing coils (15 and 16) opposite to the plate to attract the plate with the coils. The plate comprises a center thick-walled disk (19) and an outer peripheral thin-walled disk (20). When attracted, an end face (19a) of the center thick-walled disk (19) comes in contact with the inner peripheral sides of the coils and an end face (20a) of the outer peripheral side thin-walled disk (20) is held by an electromagnetic force. With this arrangement, changes in gap caused by varying degrees of parallelism of the end faces of the coils relative to the surfaces of the plate when the central portion of the plate is in contact with the end faces of the coils are smaller than those when the outer peripheral portion of the plate is in contact with the end faces of the coils. As a result, changes in attracting and retaining forces are decreased, so that variations in the attracting and retaining forces are as a whole reduced. Accordingly, the attracting and retaining forces can be maintained substantially constant in spite of some errors in assembly and mounting, so that a detent releasing force will not vary widely.
