Abstract:
Provided is a compact electromagnetic clutch that reaches a blocked state by an electromagnetic solenoid switching from not driving to driving, and that, in the blocked state, suppresses wasteful consumption of energy. The electromagnetic clutch is provided with a wrap spring that presses the outer surface of a tube section on the inside of a drive pulley. One end of the wrap spring is connected to the drive arm of a drive member that is connected to a shaft, and the other end of the wrap spring is connected to a moving member that can rotate relative to the shaft and that can move along the axis of rotation. The electromagnetic clutch is provided with an operation mechanism, which is provided with an electromagnetic solenoid that adheres to the moving member, and which creates the blocked state by obstructing the rotation of the drive member after the wrap spring has been subjected to torsion after the electromagnetic solenoid has adhered to the moving member.
