Abstract:
An electromagnetic clutch capable of providing a sufficiently large clutch force obtained by increasing the clutch capacity without increasing the number of inner clutch plates and outer clutch plates.
An electromagnetic clutch includes an intermediate member (8) which is connected to inner clutch plates (7a) so as not to be able to rotate relative thereto and moves toward a clutch mechanism (7) when subjected to the rotational force of a rotating member (5). The intermediate member (8) is provided with: a pressing section (23a) for pressing an armature (21) in the direction in which the inner clutch plates (7a) and outer clutch plates (7b) are frictionally engaged with each other when the intermediate member (8) moves toward the clutch mechanism (7); and a movement force conversion section (24) for converting the rotational force of a rotating member (6) into a movement force for moving the intermediate member (8) toward the clutch mechanism (7). The movement force conversion section (24) is provided between the intermediate member (8) and the rotating member (5).
