Abstract:
The electroconductive layer of an electroconductive member for electrophotography has a matrix-domain structure, the matrix having a first rubber, the domain having a second rubber and electroconductive particles, the ratio σ/μ of the standard deviation σ of the proportion of the cross-sectional area of the electroconductive particles in each of the domains in relation to the cross-sectional area of each of the domains appearing in a cross section in the thickness direction of the electroconductive layer, to the average value μ of the proportion, being 0-0.4 (inclusive), and at least eight samples, from among first cube-shaped samples in which μ is 20-40% and one side sampled from nine arbitrary locations of the electroconductive layer is 9 μm, satisfying the following condition: where one sample is divided into 27 unit cubes having sides of 3 μm, the volume Vd of the domain included in each unit cube being 2.7-10.8 μm3, and the number of unit cubes is at least 20.
