Abstract:
An electric parking brake device is designed so as to obtain a service brake that generates braking force corresponding to operation input from a vehicle user and a parking brake that generates braking force via the workings of an electric actuator, the actuation of which is controlled by a control unit, wherein a control unit (C) starts a count in accordance with the end of service brake detection by a service brake detection means (66), and stops the actuation of the control unit (C) after a first prescribed time has elapsed following the start of the count. Due to this configuration, the control unit is prevented from remaining started up for a longer time than necessary and battery load is reduced.
