Abstract:
In the present invention two linear actuators (40) that are arranged in parallel and that advance and retract brake pads (28) with respect to a brake disk (10) are driven simultaneously by a single electric motor (60). Each of the two linear actuators (40) is formed with a rotary shaft (42), a pad-pressing piston member (41) capable of moving in the axial direction of the rotary shaft (42), and a linear motion conversion mechanism (43) that converts rotary motion of the rotary shaft (42) to linear motion of the piston member (41). A differential device (70) is provided between the electric motor (60) and the two linear actuators (40), and power from the electric motor (60) is distributed and transmitted to the rotary shafts (42) of the two linear actuators (40).
