Title:
ELECTRIC-FIELD-BASED CO2 CAPTURE APPARATUS AND METHOD USING HYDRATE METHOD
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2023/240663
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
An electric-field (29)-based CO2 capture apparatus and method using a hydrate method. The apparatus comprises a seawater input module, a hydrating agent supply module, a hydrate nucleation module, a hydrate enhanced growth module, a hydrate slurry filtering module, a hydrate block collection module and an external electric field module. Incoming seawater and an incoming hydrating agent generate small hydrate particles under low temperature and high pressure, the small hydrate particles flow through an electric field (29) to accelerate the growth thereof and are then subjected to efficient separation, drying and compression by a hydrate solid-liquid separation chamber (39), and finally, a hydrate block is produced. The combined use of a stirring method, a spraying method and an external electric field (29) can effectively solve the problems of hydrate formation being slow and having a long cycle. The design of a hydrate solid-liquid separation chamber (39) can efficiently filter out hydrate particles and prevent the blockage of a sieve plate. Using heat exchangers (3, 24, 30) at multiple positions allows for the recycling of cold energy from a discharged waste material, thereby greatly improving the utilization efficiency and economic benefit of energy.
