Title:
ELECTRIC DEIONIZER
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2004/002898
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
An electric deionizer capable of running a necessary amount of current even a voltage applied between electrodes is lowered to ensure a sufficient deionization. One each of a first cation exchange membrane (3), an anion exchange membrane (4), and a second cation exchange membrane (3’) are disposed between a cathode (1) and an anode (2), and a concentration chamber/cathode chamber (5), a desalting chamber (7), a concentration chamber (10) and an anode chamber (6) are sequentially formed between the cathode (1) and the anode (2). The concentration chamber/cathode chamber (5) and the anode chamber (6) are respectively filled with cation exchange resin (8). The desalting chamber (7) is filled with a mixture of cation exchange resin (8) and anion exchange resin (9). Raw water or deionixed water is led into the anode chamber (6), from which outflow water flows sequentially through the concentration chamber (10) and the concentration chamber/cathode chamber (5).
