Abstract:
Provided is an elastic roller that is capable of elastic deformation under light loads, lightweight, and low cost, and that has a stable roller surface speed. In a view of a pipe 2 and a flange 3 constituting a roller 1 as seen from the side, this roller 1 having the pipe 2 and the flange 3 is supported by a shaft 8 inserted along an axis 8a of the shaft 8, and is pressed downward into a state of elastic deformation with a pressure P by a pressurizing body 11 from above the pipe 2. FIG. 6(a) is a drawing in which four outermost ribs 7a, which are provided within outermost gaps 6a between a ring 4a in the outermost contour of the flange 3 and a center-contour ring 4b adjacent to the inner side of the ring 4a, are not present in the upper part of the pipe 2, and a pressure P is applied by the pressurizing body 11 from above a thin cylindrical pipe 2a directly above the outer-side gap 6a positioned in the middle between two adjacent ribs 7a separated to the left and right of the outer-side gap 6a. The outermost-contour ring 4a and the thin cylindrical pipe 2a at the same location are recessed downward by a recession amount 12 while in an upwardly resilient state.
