Abstract:
The present invention provides an edged tool which is less likely to have defect in a cutting edge in use and is capable of providing superior durability while maintaining favorable cutting quality, without having on an edge face thereof a projecting curved surface which affects the cutting performance of the edged tool. This edged tool 10 is composed of a WC-Co-based cemented carbide. The edged tool 10 comprises: a plate-like base part 1A; and a cutting edge part 1B that is a cutting execution part formed at an end of the base part 1A. The base part 1A is formed to have an edge thickness t of 0.1-0.5 mm. The cutting edge part 1B has linear edge faces which are slant so as to come closer to each other from both surfaces of the base 1A toward the leading end side. The intersecting angle of the linear edge faces is formed to be 10-30 degrees, and a cutting edge leading-end portion that is situated before the crossing point of the extension lines of the edge faces is formed in a curved surface shape having a curvature radius of 90-300 nm.
