Abstract:
Provided is a dust core that has small eddy current loss, high strength, and high relative permeability. A dust core (1) contains a plurality of alloy particles (3) each comprising: a core part (5) made of an alloy including iron and silicon; and a coating part (7) that coats the core part (5). The coating part (7) contains a solid solution of Fe2SiO4 or of Fe2SiO4 and Mg2SiO4. A plurality of metallic particles (9), each of which contains silicon at a less percentage than in the alloy of the core part (5), are scattered on the outer edge of the coating part (7). At least some of the metallic particles (9) are present in a form of being sandwiched between the coating parts (7) between adjacent alloy particles (3).
