Abstract:
Provided is a double-row self-aligning roller bearing which is suitable for uses in which an axial load and a radial load are received and different-size loads act on the two rows of rollers arranged in the axial direction, and which has sufficiently increased load capacity of the rollers in the row receiving an axial load by suitably defining the ratio of the contact angles and the range of the contact angles of the two rows of rollers within dimensionally standard constraints. In this double-row self-aligning roller bearing (1), the outer race surface (3a) has a spherical shape, and the two rows of rollers (4, 5) have a cross-sectional shape in which the outer peripheral surface follows the outer race surface (3a). The rollers (4, 5) in the two rows have mutually different lengths, the length (L2) of the long rollers (5) is at least 36% of the bearing width (B), and the ratio of the contact angle (θ1) of the short rollers (4) and the contact angle (θ2) of the long rollers (5) is within the range 1:4 to 1:2. The range of the contact angle (θ1) of the short rollers (4) is 3°-5°, and the range of the contact angle (θ2) of the long rollers (5) is 11°-14°.
