Abstract:
 The present invention yields a double row angular ball bearing for a CT scanning device, said ball bearing being based on an easily-manufactured, low-cost structure, and enabling higher speeds and quieter operation to be attained. A double row angular ball bearing 1, 11 for a CT scanning device, in which an inner member 3, 31 is formed by a pair of bearing races 3a, 31a, the pair of bearing races 3a, 3a1 are provided with positioning holes 13a, 13b, a positioning member 14 is inserted into the positioning holes 13a, 13b to minimize radial decentering of the pair of bearing races 3a, 3a1, and the two bearing races 3a, 3a1 are fastened by numerous securing bolts 16; wherein facing end surfaces 10a, 10b of the pair of bearing races 3a, 3a1 are formed as flat surfaces, the end surfaces 10a, 10b are brought into contact with one another as a consequence of fastening by the securing bolts 16, fixed-position precompression is imparted between balls 4 and raceways 6, 7, and a configuration is adopted such that Db/h≤0.26, where Db is the diameter of the balls 4 and h is the radial dimension from the center of the balls 4 to the inside diameter of the inner member 3, 31.
