Abstract:
Provided is a disc brake comprising a planetary gear reduction mechanism which is satisfactory in cost and which improves reliability. A planetary gear reduction mechanism (45) for this disc brake (1a) has a sun gear (59) having an input gear section (56) to which rotation from a motor (39) is transmitted, and having an output gear section (58) which is extended in an axial direction from the center region, in a radial direction, of the input gear section (56); a plurality of planetary gears (60) meshing with the output gear section (58) of the sun gear (59); and an internal gear (61) meshing with the planetary gears (60). The internal gear (61) has a circular cylindrical support section (85) which rotatably supports the sun gear (59). As a result, during assembling, the axis of the sun gear (59) and the axis of the internal gear (61) can be substantially concentrically arranged, reliability can be increased, and cost is satisfactory.
