[Problem] To provide a differential device that, without the use of an axle spacer, allows easy positioning of a pair of output shafts during assembly of a vehicle. [Solution] A differential device 1 comprises: a first linking member 2 that has a straight spline protrusion 211 on the inner periphery thereof; a second linking member 3 that has a straight spline protrusion 311 on the inner periphery thereof; a first side gear 4; and a second side gear 5. The first side gear 4 comprises: a first cylindrical section 41 that is engaged by helical spline coupling with the first linking member 2; and a first wall section 42 that extends radially inward. The second side gear 5 comprises: a second cylindrical section 51 that is engaged by helical spline coupling with the second linking member 3; and a second wall section 52 that extends radially inward. The first wall section 42 of the first side gear 4 protrudes further radially inward than the straight spline protrusion 211 of the first linking member 2, and the second wall section 51 of the second side gear 5 protrudes further radially inward than the straight spline protrusion 311 of the second linking member 3.
