Abstract:
A simulated current generation unit (13) is connected in series to a power supply device (2) for an electrical discharge machine in a state in which a contact (11) and a contact (12) are in contact with each other, and generates a simulated current (Isim) on the basis of the applied voltage of the power supply device (2) for an electrical discharge machine, the simulated current being a simulation of a current generated by breakdown between poles configured by a workpiece (5) and a pipe electrode (7) facing each other with a predetermined gap for performing electrical discharge machining on the workpiece (5) by means of a pinhole electrical discharge machine (6). An NC device (20) determines whether the power supply device (2) for an electrical discharge machine is abnormal on the basis of the simulated current (Isim) detected by a current detection unit (15).
