Abstract:
An open/close device having a brake device, in which interference between a roller
and a rotary-type brake device is eliminated, where the roller opens, closes,
and moves an open/close body along a guide member and the rack structure body rotates
a pinion gear of a rotary-type brake device. A door body (1), which is the open/close
body of a sliding door device, is a suspended door body that is suspended from a
guide rail (30) with the roller (32) placed on the guide rail (30). The guide rail
(30) functions as the guide member that is joined to an upper frame member (10)
as a stationary member. The rotary-type brake device (40) is attached to the door
body (1) and has the pinion gear (41) meshing with the rack structure body (50)
attached to the upper frame member (10) by using a holding member (51). The installation
position of the roller (32) and that of the rack structure body (50) are displaced
in the direction of the axes of rotation center shafts (37, 42) of the roller (32)
and the pinion gear (41).
