Abstract:
The objective of the present invention is to provide a device that is for measuring the range of motion of a side gear and that has a reduced cost and a simple mechanism configured from one or a small number of actuators. Simultaneously, the objective of the present invention is to provide a device that is for measuring the range of motion of a side gear and by means of which the measurement is easy. The device (2) for measuring the range of motion of a side gear (13) is used in a differential unit (1) provided with a differential case (11), a side gear (13) disposed within the differential case (11), and a spring (14) that biases the side gear (13) in a direction parallel to a center axis (As). The device (2) for measuring the range of motion of a side gear (13) is equipped with: a jig (22) configured in a manner able to slide perpendicular to the central axis (As) and at which an inclined surface (22R) is formed; and an actuator (23) that slides the jig (22). The actuator (23) moves the side gear (13) along the inclined surface (22R) by means of sliding the jig (22) in a manner so as to approach the side gear (13) in the state of the inclined surface (22R) being contacted to the side gear (13).
