Abstract:
Provided is a device for controlling a stepping motor, with which it is possible to reduce noise produced at the beginning of pulse output while minimizing any increase in cost and any decrease in the torque of the stepping motor. This device for controlling a stepping motor (82) is thus provided with: a power source (111) for outputting a voltage applied in order to excite coils (82b), (82c), (82d), (82e); and a voltage switching means (108) capable of switching the voltage output by the power source (111). The voltage switching means (108) switches the voltage applied to the coils (82b), (82c), (82d), (82e) to a first voltage for a given period at the beginning of pulse output for driving the stepping motor (82), and after the given period has elapsed, switches the voltage applied to the coils (82b), (82c), (82d), (82e) to a second voltage higher than the first voltage.
