Abstract:
Provided is a developing roller for which there is a rapid rate of decay of the surface potential, and for which image defects due to the accumulation of a charge do not occur.
This developing roller (10) is equipped with a shaft (1), an elastic layer (2) supported on the outer circumference of the shaft, and at least one layer of coated film layers (3, 4) formed on the outer circumferential surface of the elastic layer. The volume resistivity of the elastic layer and the coated film layers is lower for the inner circumferential layer than the outer circumferential layer, and the difference in the volume resistivity of the elastic layer and the outermost coated film layer is in the range of 2.8-4.3 (Log Ωcm).
