Abstract:
This developing apparatus comprises: a toner; and a developer support body. The developer support body includes: an electrically conductive base material; and a surface layer that is a single layer on the base material. The surface layer has a matrix that contains a crosslinked urethane resin as a binder. Formulae (1) and (2) are satisfied if: E1 denotes the elastic modulus of the matrix in a first region 41 that extends to a depth of 0.1 µm from the outer surface, as measured at a cross section in the thickness direction of the surface layer; and E2 denotes the elastic modulus of the matrix in a second region 42 that extends to a depth of 1.0-1.1 µm from the outer surface. The Martens hardness, as measured at a maximum load of 2.0×10-4 N, is 85-1100 MPa. Formula (1): E1 ≥ 200 MPa
Formula (2): 10 MPa ≤ E2 ≤ 100 MPa
