Abstract:
This cutting mechanism in a printing device is provided with: a cutter (35) that cuts partially into or entirely through the thickness of a printed-onto medium (20); a protrusion (50) provided on the cutter; a gear train (44) that is made up of a plurality of gears and transmits the driving force of a motor (43); and a drive means (51) that is provided on one gear (48) of the gear train to drive the cutter under rotation of the gears. The drive means (51) is brought by rotation of the gear (48) into abutment against the protrusion (50) provided on the cutter (35), and operates the cutter (35).
