Abstract:
Provided is a cross recess for a screw in which a bottom surface (5) of an engagement groove (4) into which a driver bit (13) engages is formed from a steep slope surface (6) and a gentle slope surface (7), and in which even after the cross recess is crushed a driver bit can be engaged therewith and a screw can be loosened. The cross recess is configured so that when the surface area at which a lateral wall (12) of the engagement groove (4) and the driver bit (13) come into contact is a contact surface area S1, the surface area at which the lateral wall (12) of the engagement groove (4) and the driver bit (13) do not come into contact is a contactless surface area S2, the rotation radius of the driver bit (13) is Z1, and the radius of the cross recess is Z2, an indicator W2 which is defined by multiplying the radius Z2 by the contactless surface area S2 is at least 70% with respect to an indicator W1 which is defined by multiplying the rotation radius Z1 by the contact surface area (S1).
