Abstract:
This cross-cutting device shears a web twice during a pause in intermittent transport. The cross-cutting device comprises: a cutter pair including an upper blade and a lower blade; a vertical movement device for causing the upper blade to reciprocate vertically relative to the lower blade in order to shear the web; and a horizontal movement device for moving the cutter pair horizontally between a first position and a second position upstream of the first position. The horizontal movement device starts moving the cutter pair from the second position to the first position in the reciprocation of the upper blade for the second shearing, after the upper blade has reached a lowest height and before the upper blade has exceeded a shearing height. A transporting device starts transporting the web after the movement of the cutter pair from the second position to the first position has started.
