Abstract:
A problem in bicycle pedaling has been that pedaling force becomes greater when pedals are the upper and lower dead points, making traveling difficult. Using the devices of the invention reduces the amount of a body weight shift during pedaling to minimize bicycle wobbling. [MEANS FOR SOLVING PROBLEMS] When either of inner rotating gears (5L, 5R) is at the upper dead point or in its vicinity, the positions of sliding shafts (31L, 31R) of input members (pedals)(10L, 10R) provided on the inner rotating gears (5L, 5R) are shifted from each other so as not always to be positioned on a line (L) connecting each center of the inner rotating gears (5L, 5R) and a crank shaft (3). This allows the pedals (10L, 10R) to be reciprocatively moved in the vertical direction, causing the inner rotating gears (5L, 5R) to be rolled while being meshed with stationary gears (6L, 6R), the meshing being effected by leverage on the fulcrums that are the contact points between each internal rotating gear (3L, 3R) and the mating stationary gear (6L, 6R). As a result, reciprocating motion in the vertical direction of the pedals are converted to rotational drive motion of the crank shaft (3), so that rotational force is taken out to the outside from rotational force take-out means (sprocket)(7).
