This cooking apparatus comprises: a case; a cooking chamber formed inside the case; a camera for acquiring an image of the inside of the cooking chamber through a transparent part formed in the upper wall of the case; a camera cooling fan for blowing air toward the camera; a motor for rotating the camera cooling fan; and a control unit electrically connected to the camera and the motor. The control unit operates the camera so as to acquire a first image of the inside of the cooking chamber, identifies, from the first image, information related to a foreign substance on the lens of the camera or the transparent part, and controls an operation for controlling the operation of the motor such that a cleaning mode, in which the camera cooling fan rotates at a first rotation speed for a first rotation time, is executed on the basis of the determination that there is a foreign substance at least partially blocking the lens or the transparent part.
