Abstract:
This control device for automatic transmission (3) comprises an AT control unit (10) which has a solenoid fault diagnosis unit (10a) and a failsafe control unit (10b). When the current differential obtained by subtracting the actual current from the command current to a clutch solenoid (20) is equal to or greater than a predetermined current, the solenoid fault diagnosis unit (10a) diagnoses a first fault mode if the actual current is at or below a clutch slip threshold value, and a diagnoses a second fault mode if the actual current exceeds the clutch slip threshold value. If the first fault mode is diagnosed the failsafe control unit (10b) shifts to a gear which does not use the abnormal clutch solenoid diagnosed to be faulty, and if the second fault mode is diagnosed, limits the input torque to the automatic transmission.
