Abstract:
A continuously variable transmission of the present invention is provided with a variator (4), the gear ratio of which can be continuously changed, and a control unit (100). The control unit (100) continuously changes the gear ratio of the variator (4) according to a traveling state during a continuously variable transmission mode. During a manual mode in which a manual mode switch (36c) is on, the gear ratio is maintained. When a driver operates a shift switch (36a, 36b) during the manual mode, the control unit (100) performs gear change of the variator (4) such that the input rotational speed of the variator (4) is changed by a predetermined rotational speed (ΔN1) that is preset, irrespective of the vehicle speed.
