Description:
Connection of remotely controlled head with

central heating radiator valve

The invention relates to a connection of remotely controlled head with central heating radiator valve, designed for use on single central heating radiators.

One of the important elements of the control head is the solution of its disjoint connection with the radiator valve. Known thermostatic heads - adjusted manually, controlled by wire or radio - are connected to the valve by a standardized screw coupling, whereby their only safeguard against accidental and especially unauthorized unscrewing is their strong tightening with the correct torque. By weak screwing, any attempt to regulate the operation of the thermostatic head can result in its loosening and damage.

The aim of the present invention is to provide a connection of radio- controlled valve head, protected from unauthorized or accidental loosening.

The connection of remotely controlled head with central heating radiator valve of the present invention consists of an assembly nut screwed on the radiator valve, wherein the nut contains a pipe connector, with an external flange, the other end of which is connected indirectly to the body of the valve head.

The essence of the connection solution of the present invention lies in the fact that in the pipe connector there is a sleeve containing the external support flange on one end, basing on an internal flange of the pipe connector, while on the other end it contains an external spline, wherein between the external spline and the front wall of the head body a lock ring is embedded. The lock ring includes internal spline with a module corresponding to the module of the external sleeve spline.

The lock ring contains an external lobe coming in contact with the internal lobe of the side lid of the head body.

It is preferred when the teeth of the external spline are cut diagonally.

Preferably, the body of the head from the front wall is elongated covering the mounting nut.

The advantage of this solution of the present invention is the protection of the head against unauthorized or accidental loosening. By an attempt to unscrew it, the head will rotate freely.

The object of the invention is illustrated in the drawing in which fig. 1 - shows a schematic cross-section of the connection of the head with the valve, fig. 2 - shows a side view of the valve with connecting elements and fig. 3 - shows a view of the valve from fig. 2 from the top.The connection of the radio- controlled head with central heating radiator valve in the exemplary embodiment of the present invention consists of a standardized mounting nut 1 screwed on the valve 2 of the radiator. In the mounting nut 1 there is a pipe connector 3 containing an external flange 4 the other end of which is connected indirectly to the body 5 of the valve head. In the pipe connector 3 there is a sleeve 6_containing an external support flange 7 on one end, basing on an internal flange 8 of the pipe connector 3 while on the other end it contains an external spline 9, wherein between the external spline 9 and the front wall 10 of the body 5 of the head a lock ring 11_ is mounted. The lock ring 11 includes an internal spline 12 with a module corresponding to the module of the external spline 9 of the sleeve 6. The lock ring |1_ contains an external lobe 13 coming in contact with the internal lobe 14 of the side lid 15 of the head of the body 5. Rotation of the lock ring 11 at an angle, which constitutes half of the angle between the teeth 16 of the external spline 9 and the simultaneous stopping of external lobe 13 of the lobe 14 of the body 5 lid causes secure and fast connection of the head with the valve 2. The teeth 16 of the spline 9 are cut diagonally which facilitates the assembly of the lock ring 11 on the external spline 9. The body 5 of the head from the front wall 10 is elongated covering the mounting nut which prevents the use of tools to remove the head. A removal of the head consists in a removal of the side lid_15 of the head body 5, thus unlocking the lobe 13 of the lock ring 11.. Then, by turning it is released from the external spline 9 which enables the removal of the head from the sleeve_6. After removing the head, the mounting nut 1 is exposed with the pipe connector 3 and the sleeve 6.
