Abstract:
A connecting device for wrapping and connecting two pieces with flanges (15) at the peripheries. For two objects with the trapezoidal flanges (15) provided at the peripheries, a metal strip (1) is regularly and continuously bent into a connecting member with a parallel middle portion (2, 3) and grooves (4) on both sides, or with a parallel middle portion (2, 3) and cones (10, 11) on both sides; the two objects to be connected and having the trapezoidal flanges (15) at the peripheries are snap-fit into and wrapped in the connecting member, then fixing straps (8) are placed in the grooves (4) and the cones (10, 11), and the fixing straps (8) are tightened to complete the connection. The connecting device has high connecting strength and is uniformly stressed. The connecting member which is the main component is formed by regular and continuous bending without any additional connecting component. Thus, the structure is simple and the weight is light. The connecting device is suitable for connection of tubular and shell-like bodies, rectangular hollow bodies, and round, oval, and rectangular solid bodies made of metal, composite materials, plastic, glass, stone, and wood materials.
