Abstract:
This compression device for generating compressed hydrogen comprises at least one compression unit including: an electrolyte membrane; an anode provided on one main surface of the electrolyte membrane; a cathode provided on the other main surface of the electrolyte membrane; an anode separator laminated on the anode; and a cathode separator laminated on the cathode. The compression device comprises, in the lamination direction, an anode end plate provided on the anode separator positioned on one end, a cathode end plate provided on the cathode separator positioned on the other end, and a plate-shaped member provided between the cathode end plate and the cathode separator positioned on the other end, or between the anode end plate and the anode separator positioned on the one end, wherein the plate-shaped member is provided with a recess for storing compressed hydrogen, and a groove surrounding the outer periphery of the recess, the groove is provided with a sealing material and a ring material that is adjacent to the outer edge of the sealing material and surrounds the sealing material, and the outer peripheral surface of the groove and the outer peripheral surface of the ring material are both provided with a gradient so as to widen toward the opening of the groove.
