Abstract:
A compression apparatus of the present application comprises: an electrochemical cell that comprises an anode and a cathode that sandwich an electrolyte film; a voltage application instrument (102) that applies voltage across the anode and the cathode; and a metal plate (11) that is exposed to compressed hydrogen generated at the cathode, and that has hydrogen embrittlement tolerance. The metal plate (11) includes a first terminal (11A). The first terminal (11A) is connected to a second terminal (107) which has a lower resistance, and the second terminal (107) is directly connected to the voltage application instrument (102).
