Abstract:
The present application relates to a communication method and apparatus. The communication method comprises: a transmitting device using a first cache to compress first original data so as to obtain first compressed data, wherein the first cache is a cache corresponding to uplink data compression (UDC); the transmitting device transmitting the first compressed data to a receiving device at a first moment; the transmitting device receiving first feedback information from the receiving device at a second moment, which indicates that the first compressed data has been received successfully, wherein the first feedback information is physical layer feedback information or MAC layer feedback information; and the transmitting device updating the first cache at a third moment according to the first original data, so as to obtain a second cache. Whether data corresponding to the UDC technology is received successfully or fails to be received can be fed back by using a feedback mechanism corresponding to first feedback information, without the need for feedback mechanisms of other protocol layers (such as a PDCP layer), thereby reducing feedback resource overheads while ensuring the transmission reliability.
