Abstract:

Provided is a combined oil ring in which carbon sludge or the like is not deposited between a side rail and a spacer-expander even when an internal combustion engine is operated for a long time. This combined oil ring is provided with: a pair of upper and lower side rails mounted on oil ring grooves of a piston and having annular plate shapes; and a spacer-expander disposed between the pair of upper and lower side rails. The spacer-expander is provided with: upper and lower pieces which are alternately disposed in plurality in the circumferential direction thereof to be spaced apart from each other in the axial and circumferential directions thereof; connecting pieces for connecting upper and lower pieces adjacent to each other; and lug parts installed on inner circumferential end portions of the upper and lower sides to press the side rails, wherein: a side rail support part brought into contact with the side rails is provided on an outer circumferential end portion of at least one surface among the upper surface of the upper piece and the lower surface of the lower piece; a gap forming part is formed to be axially spaced apart from the support part on the upper surface of an upper side and the lower surface of the lower piece so that a gap is formed between the side rails and the upper surface of the upper side or the lower surface of the lower piece; the gap forming part and the side rail support part are continued in the radial direction through a continuing part; in the gap forming part, grooves communicating with through holes formed in the lug parts are formed in the radial direction; and an outer circumferential end portion of the gap forming part and the continuing part are not opened toward the outer circumference side but are blocked.
