Abstract:
The invention relates to a piston ring with an opening. One end of the opening has extension 2 or 3 with 3-5mm length, another end of the opening has corresponding overlapped part 3 or 2. The extension 2 or 3 has retaining surface 10 at the bottom of ring body, and the width of the surface is 0.75-1mm. The overlapping portion 4 or 5 between the extension and the overlapped portion is an inclined plane, the angle between the plane and the bottom of ring body is 20-25°. The above structure constitutes an inclined matching face of the opening. The piston ring can prevent gas leakage from the opening, enhance the compression pressure, improve the fuel economy, and increase the engine efficiency.
