Abstract:
Color separation method for photographing a halftone plate directly from a negative original (37) when making a color halftone printing plate with a camera, and a color separation device using this method. The determination of the exposure time for the photography and the selection of filters (73) appropriate to each of the separated color can be adequatly performed by inputting the enlargement magnification, the diaphragm setting and the filter selection indications into a controller (53). The filters (73) and an exposure light source (61) are provided in a projector (51), a number of filters (73) corresponding to the number of colors being separated are mounted on a filter mounting frame (71), each is selected as required and is stopped at a prescribed position by a mechanism. The light source (61) is a repeatedly flashing discharge tube, in order to suitably emit light from the light source (61) at the set voltage, a capacitor and a constant-voltage circuit are contained in the controller.
