The present invention addresses the problem of providing coated paper having excellent oil resistance, and a method for producing the same.　The method for producing coated paper of the present invention comprises heating a paper to which an aqueous dispersion composition of at least one polymer selected from the group comprising an olefin/α,β-unsaturated carboxylic acid copolymer and polyamide has been applied. A moisture content of the aqueous dispersion composition immediately before the heating is 80% by mass or greater of a moisture content of the aqueous dispersion composition immediately after application. The heating temperature is such a temperature that a modulus of elasticity of a dried matter of the aqueous dispersion composition is 5 × 107Pa or less.　The coated paper of the present invention also comprises a coating layer on the paper surface. The coating layer contains at least one polymer selected from the group comprising an olefin/α,β-unsaturated carboxylic acid copolymer and polyamide. The coated paper has a coating layer mass of 20 g/m2 or less, and a KIT value greater than 6.
